Job Description:
As a service systems engineer, you will be actively engaged in improving KLA-Tencor's advanced semiconductor optical metrology products, and the service teams which support them.  You will be based in Silicon Valley and work in a globe-spanning team.

-Gain a systems-engineering level knowledge of highly complex, leading edge systems by working with the product development team. The systems include optics, electronics, mechanical components, and custom software and algorithms.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor is the world leader in design and manufacturing of systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects through optical inspection of patterned wafers for semiconductor manufacturers to ramp and maintain yields for their products.

Responsible for the complete design process of electrical sub-assemblies, including : requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, conducting various analysis, conceptual and detailed design using Creo Schematic/ ProCable, schematics, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, prototype testing / design validations and successful handoff to manufacturing.

Responsible for the conceptual and detail design of AC and DC power distribution and control modules for electromechanical semiconductor equipment.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, schematics and interconnect diagrams, manufacturing procedures, and bill of material.
Design system control architecture using PLC or equivalent.
Design cable harness for system and module.

Support production and field escalations.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Job duties and responsibilities include but not limit to;
work with system engineers to define electrical system/subsystem design specifications
design electrical interlock, power distribution, and control systems for semiconductor metrology instruments
