Job Description:
The successful candidate will lead the SensArray product development (PLC) team as well as directly manage a small team of talented mechanical engineers. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, strong people/project management, as well as being able to contribute at the design level. He/She must be able to work in a time-critical environment to ensure commitments are met. He/She must effectively grow and develop the team members. He/She must have the ability to work across groups including marketing, applications and manufacturing on all aspects of the development project.
The job requires an in-depth knowledge of product development, metrology technology, thermodynamics, mechanics, and semiconductor component packaging.
Responsibilities include:
1) 3+ years of experience driving a multifunction product development (PLC) team.
2) 5+ years of experience directly managing a team of engineers in developing hardware.
3) Track record of managing hardware projects for semiconductor industry that met performance requirements, release schedules and program cost.
4) Strong experience with product development best practices - requirements definition, design, development, test, and release.
5) Strong modeling experience - Thermal, FEA, CFD.
6) Ability to effectively work with his/her group spanning across worldwide development centers.
7) Track record of attracting, developing and retaining talent.
8) Create and execute to aggressive project plans.
9) Manage project budgets.
10) Champion and drive new technologies, techniques, or methods.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor designs and manufactures systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects at the front-end-of-line (FEOL) and the back-end-of-line (BEOL). A successful candidate will be joining a world leader in wafer inspection products and technologies designing and manufacturing the next generation of products.
The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is seeking a Systems Software Engineer in our Milpitas, California campus.
You will be a key member of our highly integrated multi-disciplinary team comprised of software, optical, mechanical, robotics, electronics, control systems and image processing engineers. You will be responsible for the creation of machine control, image computer and data storage software for next generation Semiconductor Wafer Inspection machines. You will also be responsible for integrating multiple hardware and software sub-systems to solve some the most advanced technical challenges facing the semiconductor chip industry.
The software is primarily written in Java with various components developed in C or C++ in a multi-threaded and distributed environment. The application will be distributed on multiple networked servers running various operating systems.
Qualifications:
1) Proficient in developing system software in Linux platform.
2) Must have relevant experience in developing and debugging high-level machine control or distributed HPC software applications.
3) Experience with Object-Oriented software analysis and design using UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, Java and/or C++ programming.
4) Requires knowledge of multi-threaded/parallel processing applications.
5) Good software documentation skills are required.
6) Semiconductor equipment industry experience and/or Image/data processing experience a plus.
7) Knowledge of large scale storage technologies a plus.

Responsibilities:
The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor is the world leader in design and manufacturing of systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects through optical inspection of patterned wafers for semiconductor manufacturers to ramp and maintain yields for their products.
Responsible for the complete design process of electrical sub-assemblies, including : requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, conducting various analysis, conceptual and detailed design using Creo Schematic/ ProCable, schematics, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, prototype testing / design validations and successful handoff to manufacturing.
Responsible for the conceptual and detail design of AC and DC power distribution and control modules for electromechanical semiconductor equipment.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, schematics and interconnect diagrams, manufacturing procedures, and bill of material.
Design system control architecture using PLC or equivalent.
Design cable harness for system and module.
Support manufacturing/operations for electrical modules, for example, debugging complex electrical circuits.
Support production and field escalations.
Communicate effectively to different engineering teams, customers and suppliers.
Minimum 5 years in relevant experience, familiar with NEC and SEMI standards including F47
Knowledge of PTC Creo Schematic and Pro Cable is a plus.
Proficient communication skills, verbal and written, specifically technical presentations.
BS in electrical engineering or equivalent. MS in related field is preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of applicable experience. OR
