Responsibilities:
In this position the engineer will help designing and develop a new Software Test Automation framework utilizing simulators and our inspection systems. This will include developing test code in C, C++  or test scripts in Java, Unix, Linux (CentOS/SUSE10), and Windows. The engineer will work closely with the SCM group, Developers, and SQC team to implement a new build and test process with the goal of having nightly software builds tested at the unit, integration, and system level. The selected engineer will maintain the system test automation framework; will own pruning the automated regression test suite, adding new regression tests, and developing the test framework to accommodate new products. The engineer will also work as a consultant to the development team to help them improve their unit tests automation.

This Staff Engineer will be responsible for developing high stability deep UV lasers for KLA-Tencor’s inspection tools. He/she will propose new laser designs and research the technology needed for those lasers. Then he/she will build prototypes, thoroughly characterize those prototypes in the lab and then use those results to improve the design. He/she will work with KLA-Tencor’s manufacturing organization and outside vendors to transfer the technology into production.

To be successful, this Engineer must make decisions based on simulations and quantitative data analysis. Careful experimentation is required to ensure that the results are correct. This Engineer must be able to work without close supervision, complete the projects and write up the results. This Engineer must be able to develop innovative solutions to challenging technical problems.

Candidates for this position must have a strong background in UV lasers and be thorough in laboratory work. They should have experience building lasers using non-linear crystals for frequency multiplication or frequency mixing.

This Engineer will work with leading laser, optics and crystal manufacturers to manufacture the lasers. He/she will interact with the world-class team of optical, mechanical, electrical and software engineers who develop KLA-Tencor’s market leading inspection systems.

Education and Experience:
This Staff Engineer will develop state-of-the-art, high stability, deep UV laser technology to enable KLA-Tencor’s inspection tools to keep up with the challenges of Moore’s law. He/she will propose innovative new laser designs and develop the necessary technology to make them work. He/she will prototype the lasers, will characterize those lasers in the lab and then will use those results to improve the design.

Once the technology is successfully demonstrated this Engineer will work with KLA-Tencor’s manufacturing organization and outside vendors to transfer the technology into production.

Must be experienced in designing and carrying out experiments to thoroughly and accurately characterize high-performance UV lasers. Strong optical alignment and diagnostic skills.

3.Perform illumination system modeling, simulation of 2D phase grating/diffraction efficiency as a function of illumination spot shape and size as well as the effects of background wavefront errors and other coherent noise artifacts and beam depolarization.

Education and Experience:
1.In addition to basic qualifications, the successful candidate should be a sequential ray tracing (CodeV,  Zemax, Oslo) expert user, non-sequential ray tracing (LightTools, Zemax, TracePro) intermediate user, and physical optics/diffraction/phase modeling software (Virtual Lab, Gsolver, DigiOpt) intermediate user.
2.Thorough understanding of Gaussian beam propagation theory, geometric optics aberration theory, and physical optics based coherence and diffraction theory is required.

A Product Engineer in this position will be actively engaged in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for our advanced semiconductor wafer metrology systems. The Engineer’s primary role, as part of the GSS-NPI team, is to prepare the organization to service new wafer metrology products in the field, and ensure the products meet serviceability, reliability, customer satisfaction, cost of service, and performance targets over the service lifetime. The PE serves as the central GSS-NPI technical resource interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, marketing, technical support, and field service as products move through the Product Life Cycle (PLC).
Involvement with an NPI product lasts from early design and development through launch and post-release efforts for continuous improvement. GSS-NPI is responsible to drive improvements in system hardware, diagnostics, software, and the overall service infrastructure, while working to drive service costs lower.
The position requires a self-motivated individual, capable to own projects and drive them to completion. There is potential for a motivated Product Engineer to take an ownership role as the GSS representative to a PLC team for larger scale products.

Job Scope and Complexity:

Job Description:
This Senior PCS Engineering position is with Customer (CG) Group to develop future process control solutions for KT’s inspection/metrology tools and help implement the solutions at customer site.
KLA is looking for a Process Control Solution (PCS) engineer who can develop KT solutions for advanced semiconductor process, investigate inflection point for future technological nodes, and execute/lead project activity at customer sites.

Responsibilities include:
Help solution project implementation at customer site. 
Inspection/metrology tool recipe setup and data analysis  
Create differentiate use case with KT tools.
Support KT division and local Business unit (BU) to achieve their business goal

Essential skills:
- IC Process background: previous experience from Advanced Lithography is preferred.
- Film/etching/Diffusion will be second choice.
- Defect and Inspection knowledge: Know KT I&M tools and defect/yield analysis
- Presentation and communication skill: create presentation materials and present well
- KT Tool apps skill set and project management: Know KT BF/DF/EBI tools and can set up inspection recipe. Familiar with Klarity defect analysis S/W. Previous experience in project management.

Qualification: Previous work experience in IC fab, Semiconductor equipment vendors.
Expertise: defect inspection and metrology experience. Understand yield improvement, process module and integration.

Basic Qualification:
Associate/Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 6 years of experience.
