Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will lead a team of software and hardware engineers to design, develop, test, install and support applications used in the support and service of complex semiconductor equipment.  This is a rapidly growing field within the semiconductor manufacturing industry as our customers’ needs continue to tighten.

1) Use data gathering and analysis tools to provide value-added capability, in terms of both service metrics (i.e. uptime, MTTR) as well as tool performance (e.g. capture rate or measurement precision) to our customers, and leverage to add to the company’s service revenue.
2) Work with the new product design teams to ensure that diagnostic and trouble-shooting capabilities are built into all new K-T inspection and metrology tools, and are leveraged to accelerate learning on new tools.
3) Develop and drive software and hardware roadmap consistent with marketing requirements.  Provide technical and architectural leadership and guidance to the development team.
4) Plan and direct the day-to-day engineering activities of the team to ensure that agreed upon goals and objectives are successfully achieved.  Ensure that milestones, delivery dates, activities, and tasks are completed as scheduled.  Regularly communicate technical issues/risks and their impact to management.
5) Drive operational excellence and ensure that a high quality product is delivered to our customers.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
2) General knowledge of database administration, database architecture, data modeling, ETL, replication and strategy.
3) Experience with deployment and usage of Business Intelligence (BI) systems.
4) Experience developing interfaces & architecture using Microsoft development tools (C++, C# .NET) in Windows 2003/2008 Server environments.
5) Ability to understand product and product features to make high level assessment of scope and risks.
6) Experience in OOD/OOA and Windows design methodologies.
7) Experience with requirements definition, design, development, effective reuse and configuration management tools (RTC, ClearCase)

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
The Product Development Engineer plays a central role throughout the different phases of the product life cycle.  This position is part of a team responsible for developing and supporting next generation optical critical dimension metrology systems as well as supporting and improving current systems. The candidate will initially take on responsibility for improvement projects and support of field and manufacturing issues for the current generation product line. This role will lead to responsibility for next generation product development, from technology evaluation and selection, specifications development, product validation, verification, transfer to manufacturing, and support of customer ramp. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership attributes and be able to lead high performing teams to achieve program objectives in a timely manner.

The engineer must be able to complete the initial diagnosis of any system issue, uncover root cause and devise or drive a team to define solutions for complex problems. Must be able to support the detailed analysis and tradeoffs for the various solutions, develop plan of action, and effectively communicate plan to colleagues to execute. Must have the knowledge and experience to effectively work with experts in optics, electronics, mechanics, software, and algorithms as required to resolve issues. Some travel may be required for complex cases that require on-site support.

Additional details regarding responsibilities:
1.Drive team to resolve system issues at customer site or in manufacturing. This will require the candidate to learn alignment and calibration procedures, critically analyze these procedures and recommend improvements to solve issues in manufacturing or the field. Work with engineers at locations around the globe to solve issues escalated to engineering: establish root cause, develop plan of action (POA), guide local teams in execution of POA, and document issues and solutions to improve design and/or procedures so that they may be implemented across the fleet in a standard manner. Support of escalations may require travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues (< 25%).
2.Develop concepts and designs for the next generation system. Investigate next generation opto-mechanical technology and analysis.
3.Resolve inconsistencies between subsystems, conduct trade-off studies, identify high-risk areas, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
4.Ownership of creation and execution of prototype test plans for complex subsystems. This will involve integration of subsystems, testing against design tolerances and marketing specifications, analyzing test data, and generation of reports.
5.Drive product or feature introduction. This includes preparation of first draft of system alignment, calibration and troubleshooting diagnostics for existing and new products, training of operations and field personnel, and solving technical issues that may impact production introduction.
6.Train operations and service and manufacturing employees.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.
2.Strong background in engineering or the physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills.
3.Hands-on experience constructing and aligning opto-mechanical system is highly desirable.
4.Experience diagnosing and driving solutions to complex problems across whole systems by applying appropriate problem solving techniques.

This new position will involve the development of next-generation e-beam products. The job requires significant experience in a number of the following: electronics, vacuum and wafer handling, complex electro-mechanical systems, photon optics or (preferably) electron optics, X-ray spectroscopy, inspection technology. Experience with the definition and implementation of complex systems within a systems engineering design process will be expected. It is an individual contributor position with significant technical leadership expectations. High speed imaging systems for the laboratory or industrial work place.
Vacuum and wafer handling, Complex electro-mechanical systems,
Systems based around one or more of: electron optics, SEM-based spectroscopy techniques.

The candidate should have demonstrated strong skills debugging complex system problems involving optics, mechanics, electronics, and software. Past experience closely collaborating with outside consultants and vendors to solve development problems is also desired.

The candidate should have shown an ability to manage complex technical projects through the design lifecycle.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:
The candidate is expected to lead the system development team and will be actively engaged in system-level engineering, test and release of the Surfscan next generation high-speed unpatterned wafer inspection tools. The activities include:

1.Model system operation and define subsystem performance specifications
2.Develop subsystem architectures and collaborate with mechanical, optical, electrical and software engineers to realize these subsystems.
3.Specify and test new or improved hardware components and software features.
4.Lead integration and test of subsystems and validation of system performance.
5.Identify and resolve problems and recommend improvements relating to system optics, electronics, software, and mechanics.
6.Develop and improve diagnostic and calibration procedures.
7.Investigate abnormal system behaviors by performing experiments and analyzing system data.
8.Support manufacturing and field personnel with troubleshooting help in the form of plans of action or hands-on assistance.
9.Conducts feasibility studies on engineering proposals and related technical data for new equipment or modification to existing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the basic qualifications (listed below), the candidate should have a knowledge of optics, electronics, software, and/or mechanical systems.  Programming skills/experience are a definitely plus.  Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and to take on a leadership role when needed is desired.  In addition, the candidate should have a quick grasp of challenging, complex technical information and be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
