Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing, implementing and employing models of high brightness plasma light sources to provide valuable guidance for KLA-Tencor's roadmap in optical wafer inspection.  The Research Scientist will work within the technology and engineering teams to develop promising new concepts, methods and subsystems that will be used to meet these challenges.  Collaborating with other scientists and engineers, the Scientist will develop, validate and employ models of the thermal, hydrodynamic and plasma characteristics of the light sources.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Demonstrated experience modeling and understanding complex multi-physics problems that result from coupling of different physical phenomena.
2.Ability to determine the source of deviations between models and experiments and to define experiments to validate models.
3.strong background in FEA modeling with ANSYS or COMSOL
4.Experience modeling and correctly predicting complex hydrodynamic and radiation phenomena.
5.Experience with optical ray tracing, plasma physics and light/matter interaction.
6.Familiarity with adding custom algorithms to standard software packages.
7.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with different time horizons and different teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 7 years of experience.

Responsibilities:
The selected engineer will be responsible for designing electrical sub-system in our high end wafer inspection machine. His/her responsibilities are high speed RF PCB design which covers low noise and low distortion RF signal generator (frequency<1GHz), RF signal condition, active/passive filter design. He/she is also responsible for defining subsystem specification, requirements, technical analysis/modeling, simulation, completing design from schematic, layout, validations and ensuring manufacturability. He/she will work with other engineering team to complete system integration and sub-system performance test.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Must be experienced in high speed mixed signal PCB design, modeling and functional simulation.
2.Knowledge of RF design, high speed low noise circuit is highly desired.
3.Must be experienced in generating board requirements based on system design specifications.
4.Must have very strong skills with design tools (such as OrCAD, PSpice and etc).
5.Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are required.
6.Must have the ability to multitask, work independently and be a good team player.
7.Strong written and verbal communications skills are required.
8.Prefer - Minimum MS EE with 8 years relevant experience or PhD EE with 5 years relevant experience

Responsibilities:
Design, write and execute detailed test and characterization plans. Create performance models of complex electromechanical, optical and opto-mechanical systems. Create top-level system error budgets by integrating and performing trade-off analysis of contributions from various sub-systems. Create and execute sub-system as well as top-level system integration plans. Hold requirements reviews, attend design reviews and develop associated engineering documentation. Provide engineering support for escalated manufacturing and field issues. Interact and work with other engineering groups, marketing, field support and manufacturing groups in the course of the above duties.

Responsible for engineering activities on next generation of existing product. These activities will include the development and release of new options, features or cost reduction improvements that provide more value to our customers (external or internal). Integral to this role is an understanding of the customers use-case and successfully working in conjunction with other groups to define the requirements. Must have the ability to follow through and release / support these product enhancements effectively. Trains service and manufacturing employees. May be required to travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues (Fly and Fix) during and after product release, as well as to support existing systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
PHD Degree preferred.
Previous experience in systems engineering for semiconductor industry is preferred. Experience in the area of mechanical, optical, electrical or systems design, overseeing subsystem project, troubleshooting of systems issues, creating and executing test plans is highly desirable. Matlab proficiency is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
A BS degree in mechanical, optical, electrical or systems engineering or a relevant discipline is required, with 3 yrs experience.
MS or PhD degree preferred.

Preference will be given to a self-motivated individual capable of planning and driving development projects and ability to lead subsystem teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, fabrication methods.
2.Extensive experience with precision mechanics, mechanisms and preferably opto-mechanical systems.
3.Strong analytical problem solving skills, including thermal and structural, and involving both first order calculations as well as FEA methods.
4.Skilled at designing, building and hands-on testing of complex devices.
5.Proficient with solid CAD, preferably ProEngineer.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is seeking a Software Engineer in our Milpitas, California campus. As a key member of our highly integrated multi-disciplinary team comprised of software, optical, mechanical, robotics, electronics, control systems and image processing engineers, you will be responsible for the product development life cycle working with customers and marketing to define requirements, implement solutions, integration, testing and deployment. Our software is primarily written in C#, C++, .net and JAVA, is highly multi-threaded, and is deployed on semi-conductor equipment tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) C#, .Net, C++ programming.
2) Experienced with Object-Oriented software analysis and design>
3) Requires good knowledge of multi-threaded/parallel processing applications along with exposure to various software design patterns.
4) Requires very good written and verbal communication skills.
5) Required to work with cross functional groups to extract requirements and map them to a software design.
6) Experience in developing and debugging large high-level software applications.
7) Experience in user interface development is a plus.
