Job Description:
1.Responsible for supporting KLA-Tencor's reticle inspection products. Includes projects related to new product introduction: characterization, alpha testing, beta testing and pilot tools in the ramp phase. In addition, application engineers will manage in-house customer demonstrations and head-to-head (H2H) activities at customer facilities. Applications is responsible for generating best known method documents and other training material and transferring product knowledge to K-T's worldwide Field Applications team. Lastly, applications will work with customers to publish papers at industry symposiums or in technical journals.
2.Work closely with many organizations including engineering, sales and marketing within K-T and with customer engineers outside K-T.
3.Worldwide travel (on average 30%) is required to support inspection products at customer fabs.

Education and Experience:
Candidate must have MS or PHD in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields.  Having a background in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment is a plus. Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skill. Candidate must also be self-driven, yet a strong team player.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.

Job Description:
Reticle and Photomask Inspection Division (RAPID) Engineering team provides technology, architecture, and business solutions for next generation mask inspection systems.

Responsibilities:
Provide systems engineering leadership in the development of EUV mask inspection systems, through analysis and design of system performance with focus on the HW design; creation and maintenance of system and subsystem error budgets; derivation of system requirements; validation of prototypes by subsystem and system-level tests. Will develop system design requirements and balance subsystem interactions while meeting overall system performance goals. Leverage existing product lifecycle processes, and adapt them to the unique needs of the program.

Education and Experience:
1.MS degree in optics, systems, mechanical engineering, physics or a relevant discipline is required.  PhD degree is highly preferred.
2.5+ years of industrial experience designing or testing complex, production-worthy electro-optical systems. Preferably, experience with semiconductor equipment development, and EUV technology.
3.Must have good communication skills to interact effectively with coworkers, suppliers and customers.
4.Must be self-driven, hard working, detail oriented, with a can-do attitude and a good thinker.
5.Some previous experience solving highly complex technical problems in either industrial or academic background.
6.Matlab  programming experience is a plus. Good skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required.

Job Description:
The FaST Division develops and supports products in the areas of Film and CD Metrology

Sustaining Engineering / Continuous Improvement Project Role:
Responsible for engineering activities on existing products. These activities will include the development and release of new options, features or cost reduction improvements that provide more value to our customers (external or internal). Integral to this role is an understanding of the customer’s use-case and successfully working in conjunction with other groups to define the requirements. Must have the ability to follow through and release / support these product enhancements effectively. Train service and manufacturing employees. May be required to travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues (Fly and Fix).

System Driver Role

Maintains and coordinates daily schedules, prioritizes system usage, and supports all functions of the tool which include weekly health checks, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, system calibrations, SW/HW upgrades, revision control, testing, debugging and data analysis of measurement performance. Completes the initial diagnosis of any system issue. Must have the knowledge and experience to effectively work with experts in optics, laser, stage, loader, image computer, and algorithms to actively assist in resolving the issues. Is expected to be a key contributor in design reviews and during the engineering / alpha builds and test phases of programs, which includes testing against design tolerances and marketing specifications of a product release. Prepare first draft of system alignment, calibration and troubleshooting diagnostics. Train service and manufacturing employees. May be required to travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues (Fly and Fix).

Key Responsibilities:
Gain a systems-engineering level knowledge of highly complex, leading edge metrology systems by working with design engineers during the development process. Assess system optics, electronics, software, and mechanics with respect to design for reliability, stability, and serviceability.  Help develop, and validate maintenance, troubleshooting, and part replacement procedures, BKMs and Recipes. Leverage alpha and beta tool builds and customer engagements to obtain a level of system understand that will allow you to support the product post release. Support internal and external customers in the operation, installation, upgrade, diagnosis, repair and application of semiconductor wafer metrology systems.
Respond to situations where first-line support has failed to resolve problems by providing written plans of action by e-mail or hands-on assistance at customer sites in the US, Asia, and Europe. Train tech support personnel and others and assist in developing training materials. Gather and analyze data from the field to identify sources of systematic issues across tool populations. Write technical reports to communicate issues, analysis, technical assessments, system status, and engineering recommendations.
Act as a two-way conduit for information transfer between the engineers who are responsible for designing our products and field service teams who are responsible for product maintenance and support.

Engineering Responsibilities:
Lead Unified Communications engineer part of a team responsible to provide core technical expertise for Unified Communications infrastructure across Global KLA Tencor landscape.  Successful candidate will develop strong partnerships with the Operations, Architecture, Engagement Managers and Deployment teams, develop innovative solutions or improvements that will result in enhancements to current methods, procedures and processes.

Other platform experience may be sufficient (i.e. Polycom, Lifesize).

Preferred Qualifications :
•Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection and Cisco Unity in large, enterprise deployments with multiple nodes desired
•Experience with WebEx site administration desired
•Strong understanding of emerging technologies, standards, and best practices for mobile infrastructure, and mobile device management.
•Understanding of exchange 2010

Work with parts and service vendors as needed to implement designs.
Perform FPGA coding in Verilog for electronics boards.

Preferred Qualifications 
Able to integrate electronic subsystems with mechanical and optical systems and perform system tests.
A good working knowledge of analog and digital electronic design.
Ability to collaborate with other technical staff and share ideas regarding complex systems
Ability to design circuits to demanding specifications of noise level, bandwidth, and linearity.

About the company:
KLA-Tencor is an industry leading supplier of wafer inspection and metrology systems. This position is with the Surfscan Division Optical development engineering group, which facilitates the specification, design, and integration of new products.

The Surfscan Division specializes in developing unpatterned wafer surface inspection tool that provides the sensitivity and throughput required for qualification of current and next-generation substrates, as well as qualification and monitoring of process tools.

Responsibilities:
1.Successful applicant must demonstrate real-world experience as an optical materials and optical processes expert.  All candidates will be required to present a summary of their educational and work experience backgrounds to an audience of highly technical subject-matter-experts at time of interview.

2.Job skills include thorough working knowledge of laser induced damage mechanisms including fused silica compaction phenomenology, Gaussian beam propagation theory including impacts from photo deposition on M2 and laser beam quality,  stress induced birefringence theory and other physical artifacts produced by laser compaction, as well as fundamental optical scattering effects arising from both bulk and surface quality defects.

3.Ability to construct complex systems error models and budgets having all critical optical parameters necessary to account for changes in beam shape and size, focal depth, polarization, and transmission due to laser induced damage and UV photo deposition.

4.In addition to illumination system modeling, ability to design and/or implement highly sophisticated optical test benches and metrology tools is highly desirable.

5.Candidate needs to work as a team player, to regularly communicate progress achieved, to complete project milestones on time, and to conduct Best Practice audits of precision optics suppliers effectively.

Education and Experience:
In addition to basic requirements, candidate should be sequential ray tracing (CodeV, Zemax) expert user, non-sequential ray tracing (Light-tools, Zemax) intermediate user, and thin-film modeling software (Macleod, TFCalc) intermediate user.

Candidate should have worked with either Matlab or some other data simulation and image processing algorithm development software package.   Use of industry standard interferometry or generic metrology-tool post-processing software is also highly desirable.
