Job Description

The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA-Tencor's products.  KLA-Tencor (Israel) controls over 80% of the world market sales in its field, and its products are used by every major semiconductor manufacturer around the world.  KLA-Tencor Israel is located in the Migdal Haemek Industrial Park.  

Marketing support for the development and dealing with complex products, such as operating systems and capital equipment. Makes technical presentations regarding all aspects of OMD products. Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications.  Provides follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications to service personnel, company sales representatives, and customer's employees.
Responsible for developing advanced applications and algorithms for state of the art Optical Metrology systems. Overall responsibility starts at project inception and ends at the first implementation at the customer’s site.
The job includes modeling and simulation of interaction between semiconductors and light. 


  • At least B.Sc degree in Physics, Optical Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following is required: optical systems, Semiconductor processing, Algorithm development and implementation in Matlab.
  • Experience in the semi-conductor industry, mainly in the lithography process.
  • Familiar with YieldStar equipment  is highly preferred.
  • The location of this position is flexible; however, the engineer must be able to travel 50% of the time to various KLA-Tencor offices.

This position has the primary responsibility of providing effective global access control and surveillance solutions.  The candidate must be able to provide tactical support of our current systems while creating a strategic vision for the ideal solutions.  To accomplish this, the candidate must be able to troubleshoot and correct problems; research new technology; develop, maintain and enforce system standards; add or remove components; work with suppliers and provide training.  This position also has the responsibility to provide additional support and backup for security operations, internal investigations, back ground checks, and computer forensics.  As part of the facilities and security team you will be required to perform other related duties to maintain a safe and secure working environment.            

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Computer Science, CIS, MIS or Engineering)
Physical Security Professional (PSP) Certified

Responsibilities:
The FaST division is hiring senior software engineers to work on the cutting edge next-generation 3D metrology modeling and computation product. The best candidates will have strong C#/C++ programming skills, thorough knowledge of algorithm engineering, a solid foundation in semiconductor processing equipment systems software with an emphasis on computational fundamentals. Distributed programming of complex analysis algorithms using large data sets is our primary focus. Utilize your math and engineering skills to improve algorithm efficiency and result precision/accuracy. 7) Write functional and technical documentation/presentations.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor designs and manufactures systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects at the front-end-of-line (FEOL) and the back-end-of-line (BEOL). A successful candidate will be joining a world leader in wafer inspection products and technologies designing and manufacturing the next generation of products.
 
Responsibilities:
The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is seeking a Systems Software Engineer in our Milpitas, California campus. You will be a key member of our highly integrated multi-disciplinary team comprised of software, optical, mechanical, robotics, electronics, control systems and image processing engineers.  You will be responsible for the creation of machine control, image computer and data storage software for next generation Semiconductor Wafer Inspection machines.  You will also be responsible for integrating multiple hardware and software sub-systems to solve some of the most advanced technical challenges facing the semiconductor chip industry.

The software is primarily written in Java with various components developed in C or C++ in a multi-threaded and distributed environment. The application will be distributed on multiple networked servers running various operating systems.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Experience with Object-Oriented software analysis and design using UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, Java and/or C++ programming.
2) Experience with multi-threaded/parallel processing applications.
3) Experience developing and debugging software to control electro-mechanical systems, opto-mechanical systems, instrumentation, or robotics.
4) Experience developing and debugging distributed high performance computing software applications.
5) Effective communication skills.
6) Image/data processing experience is a plus.
7) Knowledge of large scale storage technologies is a plus.
8) Semiconductor equipment industry experience is a plus.

The Algorithms Scientist will produce mathematical formulations, develop modeling tools, and perform data analysis and capability predictions on a variety of metrology technologies. The role will closely interface with other members of Advanced Development, Engineering, Algorithm and Application teams. The candidate should demonstrate ability to develop complex data analysis algorithms, software codes that can be used by others, understanding of experimental data analysis, and ability to guide others.

Education or experience must include:
1.Designing, developing, modifying and diagnosing complex algorithms, utilizing C#, C++, R, Matlab or other tools and languages;
2.Ability to invent, develop and implement new algorithms and ideas

This role is for the head of RAPID electrical engineering.  Responsibilities include:

4.Provide technical oversight for the development of all electrical subsystems from initial concept development to production release

Responsibilities:
The Research Scientist will be responsible for designing and conducting feasibility investigations to provide valuable guidance for KLA-Tencor's roadmap in optical inspection of patterned wafers.  KLA-Tencor has a rich history of innovation and technical leadership in wafer inspection for the semiconductor industry.  The advent of devices having 25nm, 18nm and smaller design rules with complex three dimensional structures, using advanced processes and materials, will present a particularly challenging goal of maintaining high-speed inspection and classification of defects that are much smaller than the wavelength of light used to inspect the wafer.  The Research Scientist will work within a small technology group to identify, investigate, and develop promising new concepts, methods and subsystems that could be used to meet these challenges.  The Research Scientist will devise and test new inspection tool configurations and modify test benches by working with Design Engineers. To test new tool configurations, the Research Scientist will work with Customers, Marketing and Applications Engineers to obtain relevant wafer samples and then measure the wafers on modified tools and test benches. The Research Scientist will use electro-magnetic simulations of our current and future inspection tools on our customer's defect challenges to devise new inspection tool configurations.  The Research Scientist will acquire, analyze and present his/her data to the technology group and to the rest of the organization and to customers. To complete this work the Research Scientist will work within a team, where peer review of designs, test plans and data analysis is customary.

Preferred Qualifications:
M.S./Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering field that involves electro-optical detection or imaging is required.  A Ph.D. or 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience in any of these fields is preferred.  The successful candidate will have a proven record of designing highly complex experiments or engineering trials that involve sophisticated optical data collection and other physical measurements.  The candidate will also have proficiency in data analysis packages such as MatLab and demonstrate the ability to extract clear results from large, complex data sets.  Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.  Travel of up to 30% might be required to foreign destinations.
